Keira Cowan - Player Profile

Current Team - GPS San Diego

FC Bayern ID Program History - 2019

First Soccer Memory - "My first experience with soccer was when I was five. I played AYSO Rec on a team called the Maroon Butterflies in 2010. I have been playing soccer for 10 years since then"

Best Soccer Experience - "My best experiences with soccer were getting to go to ID camps like Santa Barbara and tournaments with the California Regional Team because I enjoy traveling, meeting new people, and playing soccer at a higher level with other really good players."

Favourite Team - "My favorite club is GPS. I have been to a lot of clubs and overall GPS is my favorite because of the great environment, opportunities, and level of play. My favorite professional level club is Bayern Munich."

Favourite Position - 7, 11 or 9

Favourite Foot -  Right

Best attribute -  "I think my best attribute is my ability to play with my team; I’ve improved a lot on my passing in the past three or four years. I am also a top goal scorer on my team."

Area Of Development - "I think I can improve on knowing when to keep the ball and knowing when to pass it because sometimes I will have a good opportunity and I will pass it instead."

Ambitions -  "My goal is to play college level soccer at a division 1 school. Education is also really important to me and I would like to go to a good college, like Pepperdine University, and possibly major in psychology."

Favourite Player - "I enjoy watching players that are confident with the ball and use skills to get past players and hope that I can play soccer with the same kind of confidence and expertise. My favorite player is Christine Sinclair from Canadian  Women's National Team who I got to watch play during World Cup in Paris in 2019."

Biggest Influence -  Although nobody in my family played soccer at the level that I do, I look up to my parents who are both athletes. My dad was a professional mountain bike rider and my mom played a lot of sports and continues to work hard. My parents are my influence because they are always so positive and encouraging of my soccer and are both perseverant and strong people.
